Ep. 36. Exodus 25-27 | The Tabernacle

EPISODE 36

THE TABERNACLE: EXODUS 25-27

Here is the little bit I know. I am sure the tabernacle/tent of meeting is a physical representation of the true spiritual form of heavenly things. We know this because God's warning to Moses in Exodus 25 and the author of Hebrew bringing it full circle for us in his writing. I can't possibly tell you what all the elements of the tabernacle stand for in terms of heaven. Some are obvious. The Holy of Holies and the Ark of the Covenant represent the very presence of God. The veil is a picture of the body of Christ torn for us and by which we enter God's presence. The lamp seems to be closely linked with the seven spirits of the Lord. Do I have any idea what that means? No.

I would love to understand the tabernacle better to understand better the picture it paints of heaven. There are myriad resources out there that offer ideas as to the meanings. Some seem plausible, and others seem to be stretching a bit. (Insert shrug emoji here)

I'm continuing my studies, and I encourage interested parties to do the same. Let's weigh everything we learn against the Scripture to make sure it is consistent with truth. In the meantime, rest confidently, knowing that God will one day bring heaven down and the New Jerusalem will collide with the new earth, and he will dwell with us forever. So that's pretty awesome.
