Ep. 286. Acts 21-22 | Trouble
EPISODE 286
TROUBLE: ACTS 21-22
Again, I find myself convicted by the resolve and boldness of Paul, "I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die for the name of the Lord Jesus." I read these words and want this kind of love for my God and King. This marks the beginning of the end for Paul. The people in Jerusalem had heard that Paul was teaching everywhere a departure from the Law, and certainly, he was in a sense, for he knew that righteousness could never be attained through the works of the Law. Everywhere he went, he proclaimed faith as the means by which mankind could be made right with God. The crowds were stirred up against him in Jerusalem as they had been against Christ before him. But God had a purpose for Paul that he would proclaim the Gospel to the Gentiles, their kings, and the Israelites, and Paul had not yet stood before their kings. God was working all things for his own glory, even these wicked accusers who would seek to put Paul to death.
What if we concerned ourselves with one solitary idea every day of our lives: "How can I bring God glory in this moment set before me?" What if that alone was our goal as we busied ourselves with our families, our work, our sport, our rest, and even our distractions?
