THAT WAS A HIGH SABBATH: JOHN 19

I'm not saying that what I said in the video is absolutely right. I will say is that I've never been satisfied with the answers provided to me about how Jesus was in the ground for three days and three nights. Ever since I was in tenth grade it is something that stuck in my mind. I do think when we consider that the Passover celebration came with a Sabbath of its very own and when we consider that John denotes that the reason they had to take the body of Jesus off the cross was because "That Sabbath was a high day," it at least bears having a discussion.

I know that whether the high Sabbath corresponded to the weekly Sabbath or just bumped up next to it will not change a single thing about the death and resurrection of Jesus. I'll just say that I really enjoy the details and I think the Sabbath that corresponds to the Passover ought to be considered.

But there are countless people much smarter than me that seem to disagree with this assessment and only a few, it seems, that land where I am leaning. Either way, don't let it get you down or puff you up, but maybe just think about it over your next bowl of fruity pebbles.
