Ep. 173. Isaiah 62-63 | A City Not Forsaken

EPISODE 173

A CITY NOT FORSAKEN: ISAIAH 62-63

There will be a day when God will cause Jerusalem, the city of Zion, to go forth in brightness and glory. All the nations will see the righteous city and all the kings of the earth will see God's glory. The city will descend from heaven in beauty, like a bride on her wedding day, and will be given a new name. It will be clear to the people of the earth that Zion is no longer forsaken but instead is bathed in God's goodness. On that day, the people there shall be called "The Holy People" and "The Redeemed of the Lord."

I think we forget that heaven is not a concept of something "out there" that we will one day go to, but it will be right here when God makes everything new. New heavens, new earth, new Jerusalem, filled up with people who have received new names and new bodies. God is not done with Jerusalem; he has not forsaken his covenant. He will restore the city to glory by filling it with his glory, his presence, and his power.

By faith, you and I are part of that Kingdom and part of the redeemed people of God. We are here now simply waiting for our King's return and the day he establishes his Kingdom. What a glorious Kingdom it will be.
