Ep. 199. Micah 1-4 | We Walk in the Name of Our God

EPISODE 199

WE WALK IN THE NAME OF OUR GOD: MICAH 1-4

As a prophet, Micah precedes Jeremiah but is a contemporary of Isaiah. That means everything we have been learning about Daniel, the prophecies of Ezekiel, Jeremiah's faithfulness, and Jerusalem's destruction is still 130-200 years away.

I love Micah's "But as for me" statements as he contrasts himself with the false teachers, prophets, priests, and seers.

Pay particular attention to the statements "in that day" and the prophecies relating to "the mountain of the Lord."

Micah and Isaiah have a lot of things in common when it comes to their language, and he may have set the stage for some of Jeremiah's words. He is even mentioned in the book of Jeremiah, chapter 26. In fact, Micah's prophecies to and against Hezekiah will serve as a defense for Jeremiah's prophecies against Jehoiakim. But the really big things I want to discuss from the book of Micah will come tomorrow, so I'll see you then.
